I have used Portesbury Pets Hotel for the first time this Easter 2007. I had been looking for someone to take care of my gerbil (the other one having recently died) but it is actually quite difficult as most boarding places are for dogs or cats and not suitable for small animals. I had found a “pet hotel” but my pet was going to be housed in an unheated area and I wasn’t happy with the set up.

Thankfully, Notcutts put me in touch with Jo who had worked there in the past. I visited Jo before deciding whether to board my pet there and I was really impressed! You just have to meet her and all her pets to know she loves animals and will treat yours well. The fact that she has quite a few pets of her own (including the very friendly parrot, Lola) is proof of that! Jo is a really friendly person, we actually talked about our pets for ages! I certainly was not disappointed by the service. As promised, she did house my gerbil in his cage in her living room so he would have company. When I was away, I send her e-mails to check everything was fine and she replied, telling me how my pet was doing. She took care of him, taking him out for runs and giving him cuddles!

I have already booked Jo for our summer holidays. It is such a relief when you can go on holidays without worrying about your pets. Even if you know someone who might take care of your small pets, they might not be used to handling them and I didn’t want my gerbil to left in his cage for two weeks without any contact. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jo, you won’t regret it! I can also confirm I am not related to Jo, nor was I a friend of hers before I met her, my testimony is a “real” one!" Isabelle
