Rabbit and Guinea Pig Boarding

Paws and Pets Rabbit Boarding (Formally known as PAWtesbery Pets)

Jo has been running Paws & Pets (formally known as PAWtesbery Pets) boarding for 10 years now and is completely set up with looking after and caring for rabbits. She has achieved an animal first aid course recently, Triple Distinction in animal care and management and has been keeping rabbits herself for over 20 years. She also is a big supporter of rabbit and guinea pig rescues and recently helped with the Make Mine Chocolate Campaign. She is always learning new things about rabbits and guinea pigs needs and welfare from expert rabbit owners and rescuers.

What does Paws & Pets boarding offer?

If you go on holiday the stress of packing and remembering your passport is enough to worry about.  But what happens if you have pets?  Where will they go?  Where can you take your pet where you know it will be looked after and cared for?  As a rabbit owner myself I know how difficult it is to find somewhere to care for your pet as much as you do.

I set up Paws & Pets (formally known as PAWtesbery Pets) based on what I would want if I was in need of rabbit boarding.

Paws and Pets can offer a home away from home which will leave you with peace of mind and a more relaxing time on your holiday!
I have purpose built hutches which sizes are in accordance with the RWA. These are housed in a safe and secure room attached to my home.  The hutches are large enough for even Dwarf lops and French lops, they have vinyl flooring for easy cleaning and limits cross contamination. Rabbits that use litter trays must come with their own trays as rabbits tend to use their own trays due to sents. They are cleaned out every other day and litter trays every day. We offer Dust Free straw for bedding and Dunst Free Hay for forage, we do not however use sawdust as we believe this can cause respiratory problmes. For litter trays we use Megasorb a dust extracted substance.

I can also offer a luxury shed for the more pampered furries, in the shed they will receive electricity, a radio and access to an external run, this is at an extra cost so please get in touch for more details.

All pets will also receive a minimum of 4 hours of exercise each day in a secure run which is situated on a patio, again making it easy to keep clean and avoid cross contamination. I will also groom and cut nails clean bottoms and administer medication of needed to but this is to be directed by the owner.

I am more than happy to show you around before you commit to booking in your pet.

Cost

Small to Medium rabbits (Netherlands to French Lops) £5.00 per rabbit per night. For two rabbits sharing a hutch = £4 per rabbit per night

Large i.e. Continental Giants £6.00 per rabbit per night

If you wish to use the shed and run attachment the cost will be £10 per night

What do you need to bring?

At Paws and Pets, all I ask for is a vaccination card and the rabbits must be vaccinated against VHD and Mixi 3 weeks prior to boarding. We also ask for their dried food. But of course you are more than welcome to bring any toys and litter trays. You will be asked to fill out a boarding form and sign a declaration about the rabbits care.
